9.5.2025 She apparently forgot to properly engage the handbrake of the police vehicle, and it backfired on her. The car began rolling backwards uncontrollably while she was already standing in the doorway. She slipped, fell out of the vehicle, and landed directly in front of the left front wheel. The wheel then ran over her right leg. Even that did not stop her — she got up, limping, caught up with the vehicle, and finally parked it safely.
Police spokesperson Ilona Gazdošová confirmed that authorities had recorded the incident, but noted that because it occurred within a closed premises, it was not classified as a traffic accident.
“Fortunately, the officer was not injured,” Gazdošová said.
Given the circumstances, it appears the officer was extremely lucky. A Škoda Scala police vehicle weighs up to approximately 1,600 kilograms — roughly comparable to an American bison or a large giraffe.
The incident may ultimately serve as a lesson for the officer in the future — and perhaps leave her with an unforgettable story to tell, along with a measure of embarrassment.
